Finally the answer for the Mexican Business person who likes being eco friendly, kudos to the company that bulletproofed this tesla, for it is quite hard to make a bulletproof window without a frame.

19mm glass stops many guns, and this black on black Tesla doesn’t call out attention that much anyway.

That’s about $173,000 for anyone curious.

I do wonder though, how much weight this adds to the car and how that would affect it’s total range.

It ads around 190-200kgs; so with two people on board expect the same range as a fully loaded(laden)esla 100D. But do keep in mind that the added weight does help with the regenerative brakes.

But there’s loss in the regen, so it’s not like you gain back all the energy you used going up a hill when you go back down it.

that is true, overall this Tesla would have a reduced range, no matter what.

Unless they got one of these:

Don’t they make one of those where the extra juice goes under the hood?

Is the trailer attached to the Leaf an extra battery?

Yes, it is an external battery and soon to be number one cause of highway fires in the developed world

So I was alluding to an engine in the comment in question.

I can’t believe an external battery pack for BEV’s is an actual thing. If you need extra range then buy a hybrid.

Well, it would be quite useful in certain cases, but having a large battery outside the comfortably suspended and dampened car should be an issue, it would also be an issue if its crashed upon given there’s very little space to prevent a huge battery piercing event that would probably lead to a huge fire.... unless they add crash safety things to it.

And I highly doubt any company would go to the trouble to adding crash protection to a vehicle external battery.
